Early Help Officer Job Description

POST TITLE: Early Help Officer

 

LINE MANAGER: P4YP CIC EHO Manager/Managing Director

 

SALARY £23,088.00 Pro rata for part time

 

HOURS PER WEEK: Part time 2.5 days

WEEKS PER ANNUM: 52

HOLIDAY ALLOWANCE: 5.6 weeks pro rata for part time

PURPOSE OF POST:

  • ·This is a specialist role that requires Safeguarding and Early Help Intervention experience and knowledge.

  •  To assess and support children and their families to identify their needs and ensure positive outcomes.

Role:

  • ·Deliver specialist Early Help support to schools/ families/ children and young people.

  • ·To develop and maintain effective and supportive relationships with children and their families.

  •  To work within an extended range of networks and partnerships to broker support and opportunities and improve the quality of services to all children and their families.

  • To manage and be responsible for a caseload of individual pupils and their families including those with complex needs. Give guidance, support and Early Help Interventions.

  • Be responsible for clear communication with Head Teachers, support staff, families, and other professional bodies.

  • ·Collate detailed knowledge of support agencies and their provision. Develop and sustain effective working relationships with staff in other agencies.

  • ·Collate and maintain accurate records of support for P4YP and schools in accordance with Data Protection and GDPR policies.

  • Agree and record arrangements for joint working by taking an active role in ensuring support meets the needs of children and young people in a focused and integrated way.

  • To work in accordance with GDPR guidelines and compliance.

  •  Take responsibility for agreeing mutual roles, responsibilities and protocols for sharing of information between local agencies, schools, authorities and other staff in accordance with Data Protection and Confidentiality.

  • Take responsibility for liaising closely with senior staff about safeguarding, child protection and identifying risk of harm indicators. Keep relevant staff informed and contribute to joint decision making.

  • Attend TAF, Core Groups and Child Protection Conferences as deemed appropriate by the Head teacher, managing all paperwork and information required, e.g., completion of EHA’s and use of Safeguarding systems.

  • To operate within agreed legal, ethical, and professional boundaries when working with children and young people and those involved with them.

  • Ensure high level of professional competences by attending regular training, undertaking further qualifications and self-study.

  • To attend professional supervision to manage caseloads with the designated Line Manger.

  • To attend 1-1 meetings to review staff well-being and work life balance and performance.

  • To work within and encourage P4YP Equal Opportunity Policy and contribute to diversity policies and programmes in relation to discriminatory behaviour.

  • Comply with all P4YP/ School policies.

  • To work within school settings and out in the community.

  • To have a full valid driving licence and business insurance.

  • A full Enhanced DBS will also be required.

  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Senior Leadership Team, which are commensurate to the nature and purpose of the role. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
